2010 Wild Wednesdays!

Vocalist Mirley Espinoza, known by his fellow musicians as "Chino El Sonero," was born in the city of Alajuela, Costa Rica.

In the early ‘90s, he recorded and released his first CD for Warner Brothers as the lead vocalist of the "Opa-Opa" band. In addition, Chino has had the opportunity to participate with other top musical groups, including the Malibu Salsa All Stars, The L.A. Jazz All Stars, The RMM All Stars Band and the "Tito Puente with the Eddy Palmieri" Tribute Orchestra.

Chino has been featured on many recordings, including Bobby Rivas, Bolivia, Mojaditicos, Pete Escobedo, Bette Midler, Los Del Barrio, and Rumba Grande. For many years, Chino was also the lead singer for the Los Angeles-based Orchestra Son Mayor. In addition to his studio work, Chino has also been privileged to perform with many touring orchestras accompanying artists such as Celia Cruz, Eddy Santiago, Rey Sepulveda, Tito Puente Jr, Tito Gomez, Jesus Enriquez, Miles Pena, Many Manuel, Domingo Quinonez, Tony Vega, Hernan Oliveira, Michael Steward, and Jerry Medina.

Now in its 16th year, Wild Wednesdays! free noon concert series is presented in Torino Festival Plaza at Torrance Cultural Arts Center.  Along with a diverse line up of professional musicians, the event features a variety of fresh food vendors on site.
