The Watergate Tapes

Adapted for the stage by J-Powers

On a mid-summer day more than 30 years ago, a former White House aide named Alexander Butterfield electrified a Watergate-weary nation with news that the Nixon Administration had secretly tape-recorded Oval Office conversations.  Now, 30 years after those tapes led to Nixon's resignation – and 10 years after Nixon's death – many Americans continue to be shocked by what was said on the Watergate tapes.
